Cozmo is a Mashable Choice, and just recently, it was adjudged Toy Of The Year.

According to its description on the Anki site, Cozmo is “a gifted little guy with a mind of his own.”

He’s a real-life robot like you’ve only seen in movies, with a one-of-a-kind personality that evolves the more you hang out. He’ll nudge you to play and keep you constantly surprised. Cozmo’s your accomplice in a crazy amount of fun.”

Like a Pet

Before Cozmo was put out in the market, Anki CEO Boris Sofman told Mashable that the company’s development team “thought of taking the emotional engagement of an animated CGI character and then bring that to the physical world.”

Sofman said they wanted to “create something that could be aware and feel alive and responsive,” much like a small pet.

Cozmo is a game playing machine (literally), with increasing fun as new activities and upgrades are unlocked. Whether he’s playing with his Cubes or challenging you with his favorite games of speed and skill, Cozmo’s always ready for action,” the toy’s description said.

Cozmo is not just a robot a child can play with and explore the surroundings; it can also teach a child how to code or make a program.

What’s Next?

Cozmo would be a cool gift that you can give to your child.
