Recruiters who are on the lookout for talents but want to do so anonymously can try out an iOS app initially launched by Workey in the U.S. and Israel.
Workey is an Israeli career development and recruitment startup.
How The App Came About
As a backgrounder on how the app came about, TechCrunch said Workey noted how job hunting has become more passive nowadays.
People aren’t necessarily looking for a new job but are open to their next career move and if job searching becomes “too explicit,” a worker who is currently employed “run the risk of upsetting his or her current employment status, not least if you are caught in the act of job hunting.”
To address the situation and potentially build a decent business on top of passive job hunting, Workey developed the app, which works like ‘Tinder for recruitment,’ TechCrunch reported.
To those who don’t know what Tinder is, it’s “a location-based social search/dating mobile app that facilitates communication between mutually interested users, allowing matched users to chat.”
The app takes the form of a chatbot that asks a user several questions related to his or her current job and the types of opportunities he or she is looking for.
It then uses machine learning (ML) to let a user swipe through available job opportunities mapped to his or her potential career path.
On the other hand, recruiters can browse a user’s “anonymized profile.”
If the user is interested in the job opening and the recruiter is interested in the user, then the two parties are introduced, and an interview can be scheduled.
Workey co-founder and CEO Ben Reuveni said the company AI “to compare unique career history to millions of others to suggest highly personalized open career opportunities in real-time.”
On the recruitment side, Reuveni said firms search for talents in a limited pool of applicants, which is another aspect of recruitment that Workey aimed to address.
The Workey’s iOS app is meant to help job hunters and recruiters. If you were looking for a new job, would you want to try out Workey’s app?
